Israel First Day
Well phone rang at 6:30, we were down for the buffet breakfast at 7:00 am. Of course had to snap a couple shots off the balcony first which we’re looking out onto the Sea of Galilee.
Since last night was meat, this morning was dairy – which was pretty much eggs. Although they also had some fish (tuna and salmon), fruit and bread. After that on the bus
at 8:00 am with the tour company – Amiel, and off we go to:
Site 1: Mt. of Beatitudes which we stayed at for about 30 minutes ![]()
Site 2: where Jesus fed the 5000
![]()
Site 3: where Jesus fed the 4000
![]()
Site 4: Capernaum
We spent a good amount of time there where we saw the synagogue
and Peter’s house
:
and some other things as well ![]()
Site 5: Sea of Galilee
We spent a lot of time there as well. This was by far the highlight of the day. It was extremely peaceful (except the part where 2 heavily armored helicopters flew by).
Site 4: Lunch
They call it St. Peter’s fish which is supposed to be the same type of fish that Peter took the coin out of to pay the tax for himself and Jesus.
Site 5: Jordan River Baptismal
which was at Yardenit.
Then back to hotel early around 4:00 pm. Dinner at 7 which was again very good, although I did have my first bad food experience. Someone pointed out the chicken which looked very good and looked like it was pieces of dark chicken in a brown sauce similar to the chicken we had last night except smaller. I threw the whole piece in my mouth at which point I discovered it was a chicken liver….yuck. Anyway went out for a walk tonight which was strange as everything was closed since it’s Friday night and 80% of the population aren’t working until sundown tomorrow in observance of the Sabbath.

Seems like you’re having a good time, enjoy your selfs here.

That fish looks too tasty. I like my fish in square or stick format.
