Time to switch cell phone carriers?
Well I have T-Mobile for the last 3 years or so (we switched over from Cingular, which AT&T has acquired). Currently my wife, myself and my oldest daughter are all on a family plan. I bought the Dash 18 months ago and have loved it with Windows Mobile 6.1, although it finally died about a month ago and I’ve been using an old Wing which I don’t like at all. My wife has had nothing but problems with her Sidekick LX and my daughter has been enjoying her Samsung Blast after a service problem with t-zones for a couple months.
T-mobile’s 3G network is finally going live in chicagoland this Thursday (9/25) but I haven’t seen any phones that really look interesting to me. Obviously the G1 is was the hot announcement as Google’s Android phone, however to date I haven’t seen any way to tie into outlook/exchange so that’s a no go for me.
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about AT&T’s service lately and of course my wife is getting into the iPhone, although I’ve always looked at the Tilt since it came out.
The problem of course is that we each have a separate phones which each have their own contract timelines. So my contract will be up, then 19 months later my wife’s and 5 months after that will by my daughters. So either I buy myself out of the contracts or slowly move over one at a time and deal with the mobile to mobile costs while we have separate carriers. And of course the cost of the new phones as well.
Any suggestions/recommendations would be welcome.
